Tactical Training - Drones

Well, this was certainly unexpected.

Sophie Johnson (me), Little Astro and Dustin Thunderstorm took to the Tactical Arena in Sovereign in light of the recent installation of the Practice Drone rezzer that Gokyu Ugajin placed in there for us.

Armed with a SIS Rapid-Firing Minigun, Little Astro wandered inside. Not knowing that his OIC had other plans. I walked in with my M8 Avenger Assault Rifle, fresh from Mass Effect and charged my Armor's shields. Without sufficient protection, I was sure that Astro would fall to his death - I was soon proved otherwise.
Jedi Master - Dustin Thunderstorm
Dustin quickly followed us in. Drawing his Lightsabre, he was determined to give those Drones a run for their money. He put up a valiant fight but it seemed the drones were resistant to Lightsabre energy - bullets on the other hand - not so much.

Sophie - Shields almost gone...
After taking down numerous drones, Astro and myself began to run out of ammunition. Well, he was - he had a minigun for crying out loud! I also had another excuse to get out of there. My shields needed time to recharge themselves. After three waves of continuous fighting - they needed it.
Astro - running low on ammo...

We took out another four waves of drones. I continually raised their HP (health points) as the waves continued to increase. The squad size of the drones was raised to it's highest setting (30) and the challenge got life threatening. My shields were close to failing and Astro was running out of options and energy...

...We had little choice to make one final attempt to take down the Beast itself.

Legendary Hero - Dustin!!
Our fearless friend, Dustin, took centre stage. With his dragon-blood running through his veins  he transformed himself into his Dragon form. He took in a deep breath and began swarming the battlefield with his terrifying and intense flames. Burning and melting every drone that tried to stop him, he saved his friends from the gruesome slaughter taking place - a true hero emerged within the Jedi-Dragon-Man today. Remember his name - Dustin Thunderstorm!

It makes you wonder. After all our efforts against all the drones - you still didn't see the outcome of the drones fate. Bullets flying everywhere, clips being ejected, new ones being inserted - and - not forgetting the flames: You can see below what happened to the metal foes.
Poor Drones...

Stop The Hulk!

Last tactical exercise wasn't really an exercise, it was a battle for survival.

We detected a burst of Gama Ray coming towards the slums of the city. It wasn't a pulsar, and it was getting stronger and closer.

Soon after we discovered none other than The Incredible Hulk had entered the atmosphere with no spacecraft or even a spacesuit. Just the big green mass of muscles.

He was really pissed and there was only the 4 of us to stop him: Me, Dustin, BunE Rabbit and Blue Agate. Commodore Snapper was also there for uh... moral support.

We were heavily armored and armed and started throwing more ammo than WWII. It was not enough. We appealed to exploding rounds, missiles, and even a nuke. There were a lot of casualties to friendly fire as well. It was hell in there, with the giant screaming: "HULK SMASH!"

Hulk kept coming. We had lots of casualties and he just got angrier. Dustin tried spitting fire. BunE changed to his cute little invulnerable form to hit The Hulk in the balls with his head (???). We thought it might work but it appears Hulk's balls are just as invulnerable.

After two hours of incessant shooting the emerald goliath went down and turned into Doctor Bruce Banner once more. The world was safe this time, but for how long?

Buccaneer's Island

Last week we had a simple yet fun event.

We had dustin, BunE, Blue Agate and me, and it was good to show that you don't need many people to have a good tactical exercise.

We split in two groups, one had to defend an island which was their base with whatever weapons or tactics they had. The other group was to deploy on a nearby island and attack the defender's island. The round was over if the attackers managed to explode a plane stationed on defender's island.

We took turns between attackers and defenders and explored all possible group combinations.

We attacked with air support and without and used helicopters to deploy the attackers.

The defenders used gun turrets and even used an AAV (Assault Amphibious Vehicle) with a mounted machine gun to repel the attack.

The group that managed to defend for longer was Dustin/BunE. They even shot down our helicopter before it could land.

For this event BunE got the gold medal and dustin and Blue Agate got a silver medal.

Klingon Assault

Greetings, friends!

The Tactical Events are back!
Last Sunday (07.15.2012) we rolled up a bunch of brave men for a search and rescue mission.

Another Starfleet officer was captured by a rogue Klingon House (Starfleet security is a bit lacking these days), based on Planet Boreth, which appears to house more than a Klingon Monastery to Kahless.

The brave souls who volunteered:

Dustin Sunflower
Snapper Desade
Blue Agate
Rabbit1971 Resident
alf5211 Resident
Batista Robbiani

A freighter dropped us off in a village on Planet Boreth, disguised as traders. From there we proceeded to the local spaceport, because we suspected the officer was being kept prisioner in a Bird of Prey cloaked in orbit.

We infiltrated the Spaceport and got the information we needed, and that's when we were discovered. KDF security forces tried to arrest us, and it all went south with a big shootout in the Spaceport.

We managed to take out security before reinforcements arrived, and blazed out of the planet in a klingon transport we managed to steal!

With a klingon transport it was easy to locate the Bird of Prey and obtain clearance for landing in the cargo bay.

Soon as they realized who were their guests, the klingon gave us a warm welcome with plenty of disruptor fire.

We managed to fight our way to the bridge and subdue the Captain. We knew he wasn't going to tell where the prisioner was because he would rather die than dishonor himself. He also wouldn't want to die without a fight, or he would end up in Gre'thor. So Rabbit offered to fight him in ritual combat if he gave us the information about the hostage. Then they fought, bat'leth against bat'leth, it was a fierce battle but Rabbit won. It was glorious!

We went straight to the chamber the Captain pointed, and found the Starfleet Officer. Wasn't easy though, we had to take out the guards first.

Having no other means of leaving Klingon space, the fearless group took control of the Bird of Prey and warped out cloaked.

For their bravery and feats of strenght in this event, the following members received those medals:

Gold Medal - Rabbit
Silver Medal - Dustin
Bronze Medal - BlueAgate
Bronze Medal - alf5211 Resident

Hide and Seek!

Last week we played an old game that is perfect for brushing up tactical skills: hide and seek.

We used the Klingon Planet of Boreth scenario to take the warriors out of their comfort zone, to a battle arena they were not familiar with.

Then they were divided into two rival groups, and they had to chase little old me down, the group finding me first would win. Since it was a competition, they were also allowed to shoot each other.

It took them a while to find me in the first round. I was safely hidden in one of the cells below the Klingon Trial Chamber, while they were shooting each other around the mountains of the icy surface.

Eventually Dustin found me, so Kaleaon's team won the first round.

Next time was easier, Kaleaon offered to hide, and I found him on top of the tower of the Kahless Monastery. He jumped down but I followed him and got him on the entrance.

Then we had another round in the underground Lake Clifford area. It was a lot of fun.

Hazard Team XO Kaori Juliesse was present, so she was leader of one of the teams. Hazard Team newbie Kaleaon was leader of the second team.

Also present: Starr Jetaime, Dustin Thunderstorm, Sapphire Rose, BlueAgate and Debbydo.

Here's a few pics of the action:
